FAUXX + LOCOMUERTE ON THE METAXU BARGE (03/02/23)
From Dwidou's column for Rock Metal Mag :
"This is my third live report on Locomuerte. At the risk of repeating myself, it was yet another great concert by this chicano thrash-punk-hardocre quartet from the Iberian peninsula of southern Essonne! Who has never seen them yet? vus is asked to rush to their next concert!Their aggressive, but oh so festive music is a real makeover!
Locomuerte is giving a special and exceptional concert tonight.
Indeed, he celebrates the reissue of his latest album "La Brigada de Los Muertos" (2018), with his original drummer David (Alias DDivo). He resumes service behind the drums just for this date (Florian El Floco remaining the band's drummer). Having not played in concert for a while, he will be supported by the pillars of Locomuerte, Richard (alias El Mitcho) on guitar and Nico (alias Nico Loco) on bass. Despite only two rehearsals to prepare for this concert, DDivo is like a fish in water among his ex-comrades.
The music is Thrash and Hardcore, but Steeven's (aka El Termito) singing in Spanish gives me that celebratory feel that reigns over their concert from start to finish. The bass player of a famous group in the room (coming just after Loco… in my discography, Lofo…) will rightly tell me that Spanish allows a flow of syllables much faster than French or English. And he is right, we could rename him El Termito in Speedy Gonzales!
The titles go by at full speed, with a few cuts in between allowing Nico Loco to stimulate the public even more. Even during the pieces, he constantly harangues the public with his grimaces. But what we notice above all are the smiles that do not leave the faces of the four musicians throughout the concert. Party!!!
El Mitcho will strike us some solo killers in the middle of incisive riffs. As for El Termito, despite the tiny stage, he won't stop jumping, rolling on the ground, contorting himself while vocalizing even more.
But every party has an end, and after the group photo with the public, the place becomes free for Fauxx who had the very good idea of inviting their Chicano friends.

From Pierre Sopor's column for Verdammnis :
"With their bandanas on their foreheads, the four zozos of LOCOMUERTE seem straight out of a Robert Rodriguez film: it grimaces, it strikes a pose, it speaks Spanish, it rolls mechanics, in short, we recover all the imagery chicano to give yourself a cool air and we send the rescue with good humor.
Quickly, we realize that no studio recording really does justice to the music of LOCOMUERTE : these guys are made to be seen on stage, even there, in front of a fairly small audience, it's a big party and their energy is immediately infectious. "Want to learn swear words in Spanish?" asks Nico, the bassist. Damn, yeah. And then there you go, it doesn't take more for it to turn into anything.
We discover the " boat of death ", it's when everyone runs in the same direction from one mu to another to rock the boat, because well the wall of death sometimes doesn't work, in particular" with a glam audience, they didn't understand anything, they stuck to the walls ". There was even a guy in the audience who got on his head all the time, who knows why. He did it while the band was taking a photo at the end of the set, but since he was in the back, it shouldn't show too much in the photo. There may be a foot protruding between two heads.
What a mess, madre de dios . That was funny!
